Edward A. Bolling

Edward Bolling served as both an educator and principal of the Lewisburg Colored School for fifty years. Born in Greenbrier County, Edward was educated at schools in Richmond, Virginia before attending Morgan State College in Baltimore, Maryland. Edward returned to Lewisburg in the 1880s to begin his career. A well-respected educator, Edward became the namesake of Bolling High School in 1933. Outside of education, Edward was an active member of his community involved in many religious and social organizations.
